RESOLVED - Fail to install SQL 2016 on Windows 2012R2 - Rule "KB2919355 Installation" failed

Problem:

Tried to install SQL 2016 on Windows 2012R2 and received the following error message, the issue appeared after I chose to check for updates while installing SQL. The restart did not help :

---------------------------
Rule Check Result
---------------------------
Rule "KB2919355 Installation" failed.

KB2919355 Check Failed. If you have installed KB2919355, please make sure you have restarted your machine. For more information, you can visit https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2919355/
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Solution:

Download packages from the following site.
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42334

Note The updates must be installed in the following order:
1- clearcompressionflag.exe,
2- KB2919355,
3- KB2932046,
4- KB2959977,
5- KB2937592,
6- KB2938439,
7- KB2934018.

When installing the "KB2919355" I received an error message complaining that the package was not applicable for my Windows OS system.
I went through and installed all other packages and rebooted when I was requested to do so but this did not resolve the issue, I was still missing the "KB2919355" package.

I ran the "KB2919355" and this time installed without any problem, after reboot the package appear now in the Install Updates

SQL 2016 installed properly after that!
